Rain collapsed round Les Cayes onto the country’s southern peninsula. The civil safety faculty says a prison flooded and more than 400 prisoners were evacuated. City delegate Josephe Mary Yves Aurbour says the dead from Saturday’s storm involve two adults and a child killed when water rushed into their house and dusted them into a rain-swollen river. It’s still numerous weeks until Haiti’s rainy season typically starts. It also has been raining, but not as steely, within branches of the capital, whereas hundreds of thousands of civilians are living outside as soon as their houses were destroyed within the earthquake.

    8.8 Magnitude Earthquake Rips Through Areas of Chili

    At least 122 people have perished in an earthquake that hit the country on the northeastern side of the city of Concepcion and on the southwestern side of Chili’s capital, Santiago. It hit at 0634 GMT.

    The area has been declared a “state of catastrophe” by the president Michelle Backelet.

    The quake set off many  tsumami  alerts in areas of the Pacific Ocean.

    This quake is the highest magnitude to hit Chili in 50 years.

    In Santago, at least 13 people died and many buildings fell down. A 2 level parking garage fell flat to the ground smashing many cars parked in it.

    A fire started at a chemical plant on the outer parts of Santago causing many people to leave their homes.

    In Maule, 34 people have perished. There are many deaths being reported in the areas of O’Higgins  in  Biobio, Araucania and also in Valparaiso.

    The newly elected president of Chili, Sebastian Pinera, figures the total of people who have perished to be 122. The number could go up.

    At this point, Parral seems to have been hit the hardest.They are the closest to the epicenter.

    A firework celebration became a disaster in Guangdong, Southern China. A fireworks-triggered explosion murdered 19 citizens and injured at least 50 on Saturday. The explosion in Guangdong province’s Puning City happened on Friday evening when a farmer was setting off fireworks in front of his dwelling to celebrate the Lunar New Year, the official Xinhua news  agent  reported,  mentioning  regional authorities. The bodies of 13 citizens were recovered at the site and a further six citizens died in hospital. A villager named Yang said his dwelling, which was 200 meters from the explosion, had cracks in the walls and door. The provincial  federal was laboring to deploy the activate of the explosion. Puning City governments said they would fasten controls on dwellings employing illicit and big fireworks, according to the semi-official China News Service. China’s 15-day New Year’s season, a time to bans on fireworks are lifted, has perceived at least 35 other fireworks-related deaths and millions of dollars value of harm to property. The vacation ends Sunday.

    On Friday, explosions ripped through Kabul the capital of Afghanistan.

    The bombs were meant for the foreigners that were visiting the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul. Approximately 17 people perished in the explosions.Many more were injured.

    At this time the actual number of people who died and their home countries is not known.

    An employee at the Kabul hospital reported that of the dead, 8 of them were Indians and another one was a Pakiistani. The Afghan Interior Ministry officials reported that one of the dead was an Italian. Then the Indian Embassy reported 4 Indians as being killed in the explosion.

    The Taliban reported that they were responsible for explosions that occured close by the Safi Landmark Hotel. The hotel is located in the neighborhood of Shahr-E-Naw. There are a lot of government buildings and U.N. offices in that area along with grocery stores, banks, installations for diplomats and villas for the well off Afghans.

    It started with the first bomb going off at approximately 6:20am. The explosion shook some of the parts of Kabul. There were broken windows and smoke poured out of areas. Then came the sound of guns being fired.

    There were four suicide bombers involved. They had vest filled with explosive materials. Then there was also a car set up with explosives. 3 of the suicide bombers died in the attack.

    About 20 minutes pasted when another bomb went off resulting in another large blast.

    Due the bombing, police shut down the roads that led to the area of the blast.

    Gunmen Massacre 13 People in A Southern Mexican Town

    Gunmen have been on a rampage in Southern Mexico. A group of attackers wearing hoods, are traveling through the area.

    The nineteen people have perished in a shootouts In Tamaulipas over the last few days. They have been during battles between the law officials and the assailants.

    Now on Tuesday, 13 more  people were massacred by the assailants.

    They went to a private home where they murdered the  owner, and 7 additional people. 3 of the dead are sons of the owner.

    The assailants then left the ranch. They ran into some police officers who tried to stop them and killed 5  more officers.

    The state of Oaxaca runs along the Pacific Ocean coastline,  it is believed to be a corridor for drugs to travel through.

    Even with all this violence in the southern border states, it still hasn’t heightened to the levels of violence in the northern border states of Mexico.

    400 Year Old Minaret Collapses In Meknes

    Hundreds of people were getting together in Bab Berdieyinne  a mosque in Meknes. They were coming together for Fridays prayers.

    There were 36 worshipers that perished in the collapse of the building and another 71 injured.

    The building is 400  years old. It is located in Meknes, Morocco a town that lies in the northern part of Morocco. You will find it 87 miles to the south east side of Rabat.

    The king insist on rebuilding the mosque as quickly as conceivable.  He wants the original look of the architecture to be maintained.

    Possibly More then 38 Die in Pakistan Avalanche

    A town was completely buried. It is a distant area located in the Kohistan territory. The village is located approximately 200 km or 124 miles on the north side of Islamabad.

    Government authorities have mentioned that the number of dead could eventually reach 56. At this time it is reported that 38 people who perished in the avalanche have been located.

    The village is so far out that it took hours for the news of the disaster to get out.

    Rescue is hindered by roads that are blocked by the snow and terrible weather. Even a helicopter could not get into the area to help due to the bad weather conditions.

    There has been a lot of snow the last fourteen days. This has resulted in an increased peril of avalanches throughout the north areas of Pakistan.

    They will continue to search for the missing. There are thought to  be women with children possibly still trapped beneath the snow.
